If you are trying to sell online, why are you marketing to other woman that are just online to sell you something? If you are trying to get other woman to sign up to be direct sales consultants under you, wahm sites and Yahoo groups are great. If you are actually trying to sell your product, don’t try sell it on wahm sites or even Yahoo groups. People who are wanting to buy something online are NOT shopping at WAHM sites or Yahoo advertising groups! They are looking at search engine searches and hitting shopping directories. You have to take a step back and remember what you were like BEFORE you started to promote online! Woman who chat online in “Mom, SAHM, mommy ” message boards, more than likely shop online as well. Mom aimed message boards are a great place to buy advertising space. Many do not allow you to post advertising in the posting area, but will sell you ad space. Do a search for mom message boards, SAHM message boards, forums, These are the places you should be advertising on! If your target market is woman, so you need to find sites that aim at woman and moms. When I had a vendor fair this year, I started to look into these types of sites to advertise on. Whew!! Some of them wanted a ton of money to advertise on. That is such a big gamble with a small business you started to have spare money to pay for soccer or dancing classes!When you are trying to compete with the big stores, you cannot spend even close to what they spend in advertising. What you can do is pay a little bit at a time with what is called Pay Per Click advertising. If you can get on a website that has a ton of traffic, or on a search engine as a “sponsor” for just a tiny bit of money ~ would you?Now that I have launched Shopping With Moms , I am targeting shoppers I don’t have the same target as Wanttobeawahm.com . I found some places that offered a chance to advertise on real websites. By doing a search on AdBrite for sites that I thought would be perfect to advertise on, I was able to find sites that I might want to advertise on. There were some sites that had hardly any traffic, but there were some that had tons of hits! Some of the sites were expensive, while others were amazingly low. And what was cool about this site is that you could start off advertising for just a few pennies per click! I don’t have to pay to advertise if no one clicked on my ad! What a bargin. I can budget how much I am willing to spend per click and even per day! This is great. I can start off really low ( like $2.00 per day) I can get my ad on sites that had thousands of hits per day. Now that is worth the gamble! Even if I had clicks, I could afford to put my ad there without worrying about how I would pay for it if it didn’t work. At worst, I wouldn’t be able to buy a hamburger and french fries! What is cool about AdBrite, is that now that I am aware of it, I see that ads spots everywhere. If you see “you ad here”, click on it and you will see many times that it takes you to Adbrite! If you have a site that you can put advertising on, you can list your site there as well!! ( Remember, this is also giving you another link to your site out there, so even if you don’t sell ad space for awhile, you can still get hits of the listing!) There are loads of sites where you can get really inexpensive advertising on AdBrite! I love it!Many search engines offer PPC advertising for really amazing low prices. You bid the highest amount that you are willing to pay per click. Try to keep your prices very low ( $.05 and under). Search ~ O ~ Rama offers PPC advertising where you can get your ad placed on the home page as well as the welcome email sent out to about 1000 + new members per day. This will run you approximately 2 or 3 cents per click, sometimes more if there are more competing for the 5 spots available!Use the WAHM site to advertise your income opportunity, not the products you are selling.
